Business owners invited to participate in Pueblos Magicos program   INVITAN A EMPRESARIOS A PARTICIPAR ACTIVAMENTE EN EL PROGRAMA PUEBLOS MÁGICOS
On Tuesday morning, the City began teaching a course called Articulación de Cadenas Productivas Turísticas: A Management Model for Pueblos Magicos, which was attended by hoteliers, restaurateurs, and tourist service providers. The Assistant Technical Consultant in charge of the conference, Roberto Bravo Jimenez, said the "Articulation de Cadenas" or Links in a Chain refers to the joint efforts to add value to each stage in the process of development of collective competitive advantages in tourism.
He explained that this is a federal requirement for Pueblo Magico towns, whose intent is to identify the areas which are impeding local growth and tourism development among entrepreneurs in the tourism industry, and then to organize and formulate projects for PRODERMAGICO, which will benefit the life of these communities.
On Wednesday May 25 and Thursday May 26, they will conduct diagnostic sessions where each member of the tourism industry can discuss areas that need maintenance. Each member is encouraged to actively participate in the process. On Friday, May 27, there will be a signing of an 'acta de competitividad' (Competitiveness Act) agreement between the entrepreneurs, their organizations, and others to represent their unity and that they want improvement for the municipality.

Certified beach lacks disabled access

Although Playa Centro (Posada Beach) has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag, there are criteria which are not being met, according to Por Esto. These include access for persons in wheelchairs, banning of glass containers and beach vendors, free bathrooms & showers, and free beach furniture. It is noted that a lifeguard is not in the lifeguard tower.
A couple from Morelia who are staying in Cancun and visiting the isle for the afternoon on a catamaran package deal compared the Posada Beach with the Blue Flag "Delfines" beach in Cancun and said, "There is no comparison. At Playa Delfines all the services are free, with no charges for the umbrellas, toilets, or showers. There is special access for the disabled and special toilets for them. This beach in Isla Mujeres does not appear to be a Blue Flag Beach."

Increasing amounts of graffiti
El graffiti se extiende como plaga [+] Ver masPhoto & full article at this link

Increasing amounts of graffiti have been appearing on private and public buildings and fences, especially in colonia La Gloria, including on the wall of the municipal cemetery, indicating a lack of respect for the dead. No sooner are surfaces cleaned and repainted, before the vandals strike again with their scribblings. Residents say this presents a bad image to tourists, especially for a "Pueblo Magico" and they complain that police patrols are ineffective against the problem. They also complain about the cost of paint hide the graffiti, and say authorities should take action against the problem.
